This program incorporates advanced therapies, ranging from orthopedic care and traumatology, to sports medicine, to prosthesis development and orthotic techniques, to long research and Cuban doctors specialized in this field, building on update scientific knowledge and high international standards.
The therapies and treatments are developed in the International Orthopedic Scientific Complex “Frank País’’ a highly-specialized center and reference for the Ibero-American School of Orthopedics and Traumatology, as well as the International School of Orthopedics and Traumatology.
As part of its specialization in the treatment of complex traumatic injuries and complications caused by trauma from dislocations or fractures, the institution has successfully developed a series of treatments. These treatments focus on giving attention to high incidence pathologies caused by injures of professional athletes, ballet dancers and circus artist etc, making ‘”Frank País’’ a unique clinic in the region.
It also operates with diagnostic and therapeutic protocols for the main and most frequent osteomioarticular diseases. Among the most important pathologies covered in it’s surgical procedures are prosthetic joint replacements of hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist and metacarpal-phalangeal joints. Other outstanding treatments are deformities of the spine, especially scoliosis, kyphosis and kyphoscoliosis. The orthopedics and traumatology program is supported also by the Central Clinic “Cira Garcia” and the Hospital “Hermanos Ameijeiras”, where high quality treatments are developed.
