Neurorehabilitation
Neurorehabilitation
The Neurological Restoration Program in Cuba is carried out mainly in the CIREN (Centro Internacional de Restauración Neurológica), an advanced scientific-medical institution. CIREN’s two main therapeutic programs are: ‘’Neurological Rehabilitation or Restoration’’ and ‘’General Biological Restoration’’. The Neurological Restoration Program is a therapeutic strategy that combines several methods such as: ‘’Pharmacological’’, ‘’Surgical’’ and ‘’Neuro-rehabilitation’’.
The main treated neurological diseases are:
- Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
- Cranial brain trauma.
- Traumatic injuries of the spinal cord.
- Alterations related to brain aging.
- Alzheimer disease.
- Tumors of the C.N.S.
- Complications of cerebral anoxia.
- Cerebral palsy.
- Neuromuscular and peripheral nerve disorders.
- Other diseases of the nervous system.
The technology for the Neuro-Restorative Treatment created by CIREN is multifactorial, intensive and personalized. It is based on the principle to achieve recovery of the nervous system’s neuroplasticity.
Based on the recovery abilities of the nerve system, the personalized application of these methods allow to compensate the existing adjustments and stimulate structural and functional recovery of the damaged or diseased nervous activity.
